Are you a counsellor?
No.
A counsellor would be trained differently to me.
A counsellor is someone to talk to when you need to work things out. Someone who can give you a chance to talks things through and share your problems with and how you feel. Maybe if you are grieving or if a relationship has ended, a counsellor could be effective to offer you the time and space you need to process things.
I'm a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.
I focus on specific issues and offer tools, strategies, interventions and treatment for challenges like anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, OCD and eating disorders for example. I focus on the management of issues by helping people change their perception or even beliefs on certain matters and modify behaviours to overcome their problems.
How does CBT work?
Team work.
Logic, rational thinking, kindness and improving self awareness. with a much better understanding of what's going on with you. Changing and facing things too. (There's much to learn and we can work it all out together).
Do I work with couples?
No. I only work 1:1.
